Competition Regulations 24-hour race LMVv o. z.

Fourth edition of the 24-hour long-distance endurance swim on the open water 15 – 16 June 2024

area of the small lake Nove Kosariska, Dunajska Luzna

Date and time of the event

15.6.2024 from 12.00 (entry into the water and start of the race) to 16.6.2024 until 12.00 (exit from the water and end of the race)
Entry to the event is only allowed by registering and paying the entry fee online via bank transfer until 10.6.2024.
The sport event has a limited number of swimmers to 150 participants.

Individuals women and men:

Juniors from 10 to 18 years

Masters A from 19 to 34 years

Masters B from 35 to 50 years

Masters C from 51 to 64 years

Masters D from 64 above

4/5/6 relays (women, men, mixed, seniors 64+), relays in other numbers will not be evaluated

Conditions of participation

Individuals register separately
Members of relays shall register separately and when registering shall give the name of the relay leader and the name of the relay. The relay leader organizes and supervises the relay during the race. The relay leader is the primary contact for the organisers
Payment of the entry fee and other fees associated with the race is due by 10. June 2024, exclusively electronically to the bank account.
Entry fee is non-refundable in case of non-participation (it can be transferred to another swimmer)
Swimmers in the individual category must state their current 1000m swim time when registering.
The organiser reserves the right not to accept an entry from an individual swimmer in the event of high interest in participating in this category. Selection will be determined on the basis of previous participation and results achieved in endurance swimming
Individual swimmers and relay swimmers must sign an affidavit form at presentation stating that they are in good health, are aware of the demands of the event and are participating at their own risk
The number of participating relays is not limited
In justified cases, a change in registration (swimmer/relay member substitution) may be made with the registration administrator no later than 10:00 15.6.2024 before the start of the race.

Participation fee

From 1.4.2024 to 15.5.2024 – 40€ per person
From 16.5.2024 to 31.5.2024 – 45€ person
From 1.6.2024 to 10.6.2024 – 50€ per person

Mandatory equipment of participants

All swimmers are required to use a safety float (buoy) and a light signaling device on their heads or on the float during night swimming.
Each swimmer in the individual and relay category is obliged to wear a swim cap with his/her starting number during the swim, by which the whole course of the race is identified, especially when swimming through the finish line and when leaving the water. In relays, there is one chip and one numbered swim cap, which must be worn by the current relay swimmer.

Unauthorised equipment of participants

Swimmers are not permitted to use wetsuits, fins, or any elements or items of clothing that disrespect the nature of the sporting event

Swimming route

Length of one section – day route is 1200 m and night route is 300 m.
The route will be marked with buoys and illuminated during night swimming. The buoys will be marked with flashing lights, the shore and the pier with lights.
Estimated water temperature 18° to 22° C

Swimming regime

The individual swimmer category may have breaks with exiting the water, which shall be reported to the organizers, the number and length of exits is not limited.
A relay has only one swimmer in the water at any time during the event, while the time of stay of one swimmer of the relay in the water is not fixed and also the rotation of swimmers is not determined by a pre-announced order and is arbitrary.
Both the individual and the relay may terminate their participation early and will be credited and evaluated for the time and distance swum.

Measurement of length and time

The distance swum is measured cumulatively
In the case of relays, one of the relay members shall always be in the water
The distance swum is calculated by the sum of turns swum under an electronic gate, which is recorded by the swimmer’s electronic chip. Between 12:00 and 21:00 1200 m is counted, between 21:00 and 5:00 300 m is counted and between 5:00 and 12:00 1200 m is counted. Changes in course length will be controlled by the race organiser. Any swimmer who swims through the electronic gate before the time set for the course length change will automatically continue on the same course for the next lap.

Penalties

A swimmer in case of unauthorized shortening of the course will be penalized by deduction of the whole lap i.e. 1200 m or 300 m according to the swimming time in which the swimmer shortened the course.
In case of repeated violation of the rules, the organizer is entitled to exclude the swimmer from the competition.

Reservation of the organiser’s right

In case of extreme weather deterioration, the organizer reserves the right to interrupt or cancel the event, which will be announced in time by a sound signal.
The event may be cancelled or moved to another date during its preparation due to a regulation of the ÚVZ (Office of the public health).
The organizer reserves the right not to accept entries in case of failure to pay the entry fee on time or undignified behaviour of the participant, which will be judged by the organizing staff of the event.
It is forbidden to consume alcoholic beverages by participating swimmers during the duration of the event The organizer reserves the right to exclude them from participation (DSQ) without refund of the entry fee in case of proof of consumption of alcoholic beverages by an individual swimmer or a relay member.

Refreshments and catering during the event

The organizer will provide for the participants drinking regime (mineral water and hot tea) and half board – breakfast (Sunday) and two hot meals (one per day)
Other refreshments and meals are provided by the participant at his/her own regime and expense. An open buffet will be available throughout the event as needed and desired.
Necessary sanitary facilities will be provided in the event area
The participant is responsible for hygiene and environmental protection at the venue
The participant is obliged to avoid disturbing the night peace between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., to avoid excessively loud vocal speech and to avoid playing loud music at an excessive volume.

Safety and security

Permanent 24-hour medical protection will be provided with an emergency vehicle
A lifeboat will be on the water throughout the event in case of the need for prompt intervention

Awards and souvenirs

All active participants will be rewarded with a participation diploma
1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in each category

Media and publicity

Media coverage is provided by the organizer together with the partner
The organiser reserves the exclusive right to provide information to the media and the public about the event, its proceedings and outcome.
Participants of the event agree to the making of video and audio recordings and their publication in the media
